According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the racial makeup of America's professional pilots and flight engineers is 92% white and 91%, male. Last year's figures show that less than 3% of US commercial pilots are African Americans. Fewer than 7% are Hispanic or Latino, and a little more than 4% are Asian.
