Daniel k. Brunskole

Visionary & Founder

Daniel K. Brunskole now serves as the Group Manager, Flight Operations for The Coca Cola Company's aviation division. He presently operates Gulfstream 5/550 and G-200 aircraft and oversees a fleet flight operations group of 21 colleagues. He retired from the United States Air Force on 14 June 2004 and joined Coca-Cola.  Dan has affected the flight operations fleet change to two G-550’s, one G-V and one G-200.  The trip reliability rate has been 100%, and the pilot associates are matrixed to fly all aircraft.  Dan has led flight operations through two ISBAO certifications and took the operations from excellent to outstanding according to the Flight Safety Foundation's recent audit of Dec 2006.  With his last assignment as the 89th Operational Support Squadron Commander.  He was the Chief of Safety, 89 Airlift Wing, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, before assuming command on 24 April 2003.  He led the wing safety office through two 21 AF SAVs and one HQ AMC safety inspection with all “excellent” ratings.  He deployed for 90-days to Al Udeid AB, Qatar, during the summer of 02, as the 379 AEW Chief of Safety in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Lieutenant Colonel Brunskole is a C-20B/C-37A instructor pilot attached to the 99 AS and is SENEX qualified.  He served as an AF-1 backup pilot from December 2000 until the retirement of aircraft 27000 in September 2001.  He piloted President Bush on his historic Air Force One flight aboard the VC-137 in August of 2001.  While assigned to the 99 AS, he served as a Squadron Operations Center officer and Assistant Director of Operations. Dan was a Command Pilot with over 5400 hours--2500 hours in    Special Air Missions.  Dan received his commission in June 1983 following graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy.  He remained at the Academy for the next three months as a USAFA Sports Camp counselor.  He graduated from pilot training in August 1984 out of Columbus AFB, Mississippi.  He has had assignments in flying operations to include the KC-135A/D, T-37, KC-10, VC-137, C-135, C-32A, C-20B, and C-37A.  His staff tours include Tanker Task Force operations at Zaragoza AB, Spain from Aug 1989-Aug 1991 and as Chief, Integration Branch/C-32A evaluator pilot, HQ AMC/DOV, Scott AFB IL from Jun 1997-Jun 2000.   He was the initial cadre on the C-32A and piloted the delivery of aircraft 90004 from Boeing Field to Andrews AFB in 1999.  He also led the Air Force FAA-designated examiner pilot program and became the first Air Force FAA B-757 designated pilot examiner.  While assigned to Andrews AFB from 1991-1996, he served in the 1 AS, 89 OSS, and 89 OG as a Scheduler, Resource Advisor, Executive officer, Flight Commander, Assistant Chief of Current Operations, and Assistant Chief, Group Standardization and Evaluation/VC-137 examiner pilot.  He was the 89 AW 1995 Instructor Pilot of the Year.  Dan earned his Master's degree in 1993 from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Aviation Management. He completed Squadron Officer School and Air Command and Staff College in-residence and correspondence along with Air War College by correspondence.  He is a graduate of the Strategic Air Command Tactics, Air Force Operational Risk Management, Chief of Safety, and Oklahoma City FAA designated flight examiner course. Dan’s top awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two oak leaf clusters), Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal for heroism, and Air Medal.   He is married to Lieutenant Colonel (ret) Nancy G. Brunskole and has three sons Brandon, Taylor, and David.
